Baby is healthy, mama is healthy, next steps? We wanna ensure it stays that way!

 

Our on-site medical team oversees prenatal care from weeks 1 to 40. At week 40, care is transferred to the hospital under the care of Tandem's midwife for delivery. 

 

All medical care provided on site at Tandem is at no cost to the family. Tandem, as a Navigator through the Minnesota Department of Health, helps facilitate Medical Assistance coverage to cover delivery, labs, and ultrasounds. 

 

Wraparound care from crisis management, mental health, services, parenting and life skills education, advocacy, and transitonal housing ensures that mamas are equipped and ready post delivery.

 

What is prenatal care?

 

It is not unusual that people confuse prenatal care with prenatal vitamins. Did you know, that both are needed? Prenatal care consists of doctor or midwife visits throughout your entire pregnancy to ensure baby and mama are healthy.

 

What is the difference between a midwife and a doctor?

 

A midwife can do everything a doctor can do, except perform surgical procedures like a C-section. Why do we prefer midwives? Because we love the personal hands-on care they give.

 

Because we are big on personal care - we have created a prenatal program that is very different than anything else. We are truly a family here - you will never feel unknown or unnoticed. Each appointment is about supporting you and answering all of your questions. Because pregnancy can be overwhelming (what in the world happens to our bodies?), we provide a RN/LPN and a Midwife for each visit. We believe having both allows you to feel supported and cared for.
